Empowering Youth to Take Action on School Climate and Culture
In this webinar, Illinois Quality Afterschool staff lead a conversation on how afterschool programs can empower youth to use school climate and culture data to address equity issues within their schools and programs. Staff from the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence share information about their inspirED program. The inspirED approach provides a straightforward structure, open-source online resources, and virtual coaching supports to help programs empower students to take action on issues of school climate and culture. Participants also have an opportunity to think about the types of barriers our young people face within our programs and connect lessons and resources from inspirED to concrete ways afterschool staff can become advocates for change and youth empowerment.
