Let's Get Creative with Young Adult Book Club
Young adult book clubs provide opportunities for students to read and discuss books with relevant social and psychological themes, such as gender, difference, identity, diversity, class, coming of age, and technology. They share the responsibility for leading and promoting discussion, and they commit to independent reading. In this webinar, Marla Harp of Benton Consolidated HS District 103 explains how book club can instill a lifelong love of reading, reach at-risk students, and incorporate social and emotional learning into academic settings.
